Investor 2024 Awards
The prestigious Investor of the Year (IOTY) Awards, hosted by SA Property Investors Network (SAPIN) and proudly sponsored by Absa Home Loans, celebrated South Africa’s top property entrepreneurs at a dazzling ceremony at Shepstone Gardens in Johannesburg.
After an intense review of hundreds of entries by a panel of expert judges, 18 finalists across 10 categories emerged. Leading the night was Patricia Tshitema, who not only took home the coveted 2024 Investor of the Year title but also triumphed in both the Big Leagues and Inner-City categories.
Patricia, CEO of Bono Property Group, expressed her gratitude after winning Investor of the Year in three categories, saying, “I’m humbled and at a loss for words. This is just the beginning, and I’m determined to multiply my dreams. My mission is to empower the young people we house, which drives me daily. Winning confirms that dreams matter. On Monday, I’ll start strategic planning to expand our impact in South Africa. Thank you to SAPIN for connecting us with essential resources and partnerships for success in property investment.”
The IOTY Awards celebrate ordinary South Africans doing the extraordinary in property investment. From township entrepreneurs who started their investor journeys renting out rooms and expanding their portfolios to managing buildings, to women who’ve defied the odds to become landlords, the Awards shines a spotlight on the stories of everyday South Africans who created possibilities while facing challenging economic circumstances.
This year’s Awards feature new categories that celebrate diversity, including the Township Entrepreneurs, Women and Youth Entrepreneurs, Big Leagues, and Social Change Agents categories.
Andrew Walker, CEO and Founder of the SA Property Investors Network said, “Winning at the IOTY Awards significantly boosts the reputation and new business opportunities of budding and experienced property investors and solidifies their positions as top-tier investors in the competitive real estate market. Patricia was a worthy winner in her category and overall..”
Nondumiso Ncapai, Managing Executive at Absa Home Loans concurs: “Through the IOTY Awards, Absa are proud to live out the purpose of that ‘Your story matters’ and actively participate in the journeys of property investors who help develop the real estate sector and the greater economy.”
